The North Carolina State University Judo Club was organized by students in or before 1971 to provide an organized forum to promote the sport on campus, as well as to provide students interested in judo the chance to compete with one another. The Judo Club remained active through at least 1981, but disbanded sometime between then and the start of the 1983-1984 academic year.
